Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde Marshal one of the major strong pillar of Fuji music in Nigeria, is more than a cultural icon, as he’s a spiritual enigma according to his claim. While his art is rooted in Fuji, a genre with deep Islamic roots. Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde has long held a subtle but undeniable relationship with Celestial Church of Christ when he declared that his a bonafide member of the Church.

It is no longer a secret in certain inner circles as Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde and other secular musicians has drawn inspiration from Celestial melodies, particularly the rhythm and percussion of Celestial worship. The Church is known for its unique Africa instruments such as talking drum (gangan), bata drums, gbedu, agogô, sẹ̀kéré sakara etc, all played not just for sound, but as vessels of divine vibration.

Whether intentional or intuitive, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde occasional blending of these sacred tones in his Fuji music gives his sound an ethereal energy that resonates across spiritual and secular audiences alike. For those who are discerning, a hymn line or Celestial cadence can suddenly emerge in his instrumentation, triggering a spiritual memory even in the most unlikely of venues.

CELESTIAL HYMNS IN SECULAR GATHERINGS: A Holy Disturbance

There’s something deeply unsettling yet soul-stirring when Celestial Church of Christ hymns are sung or played in secular spaces, be it concerts, parties, or open-air festivals.

Unlike other church music, Celestial hymns are not mere songs—they are sacred invocations, spiritual chants birthed through revelation. They are sung with bare feet, in consecrated garments, under divine instruction. So when these hymns surface in clubs, on social media trends, or within Fuji performances, it creates a holy disturbance.

Some call it sacrilege, a violation of sacred boundaries. Others say it is divine evangelism through which God reaching out to the lost through unexpected channels.

But what cannot be denied is this: Celestial hymns carry weight. When sung, even in jest or casually—they evoke emotions, tears, and moments of silence. They remind people of their roots, of prayers once said in childhood, of dreams still waiting in the spiritual realm.

CELESTIAL HYMNS SINGING IN CLUBS: A SHAMEFUL ACT

The singing of Celestial Church of Christ hymns in worldly clubs and secular entertainment venues. This act is not only deeply disrespectful but utterly shameful.

Celestial hymns are sacred songs, born from divine inspiration, rooted in spiritual revelation, and meant for the worship and glorification of the Almighty God. These hymns are ministerial tools, not musical entertainment. To drag them into clubs—spaces filled with alcohol, indecency, and secular indulgence is to defile what is holy and mock the presence of the Holy Spirit.

We must ask ourselves: Where is the fear of God? Where is our reverence for what is sacred? If those who should uphold the sanctity of our faith now desecrate it for social media likes, clout, or money, then we are truly in perilous times.

This is a call to repentance and spiritual awakening. Let those who have participated in this sacrilege retrace their steps. Let choir members, youth leaders, shepherds, and elders rise in defense of our liturgical integrity. The altar must not be mixed with the stage of the world.

“Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine…” (Matthew 7:6)

To all Celestians: stand for righteousness. Defend the faith. Do not be silent when sacred things are mocked. This is not just about music—it is about the soul of our Church.
