Ketu Faction and Nigeria Diocese are both claiming affiliation of parishes in Ondo State, specifically Celestial Church of Christ Messiah Cathedral, Ore and Celestial Church of Christ King of Kings, Akure, Ondo State.
A dispute arose in Akure, Ondo State due to conflicting claims by the Trustees’ faction and the Nigeria Diocese faction. The confusion stemmed from Prophet Samson Adeniyi’s declaration of allegiance to Rev Pastor EMF Oshoffa on the 30th July 2024 in Lagos. The announcement was made by the spokesperson for the faction, who commended Prophet Adeniyi’s decision to align his parish with the Ketu faction.
However, a new development arose on the 4th August 2024 when the official page of Rev Pastor Ben Omoge posted a short video of Prophet Samson Adeniyi. In the video, It was written that Prophet Adeniyi has reversed his decision, and he had declared that the Holy Spirit ministered to him to immediately return to Rev Pastor Ben Omoge faction.
As of the time of writing this report, Prophet Samson Adeniyi has not provided any clarification on his visit to the two pastors in the church and his announcement of affiliation to them. This has caused confusion within the Christ body.
The confusion has reignited personal interests and factionalization within our church. Some elders are pushing for followers to increase their value, rather than focusing on making God’s mandate the primary objective of the church.
This clash of interests has sparked internal turmoil within the church, as both factions vie for control over these parishes. The situation remains unresolved as both sides continue to assert their claims.
