The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has recently acquired hectares of land in Imeko under Imeko-Afon Local Government in Ogun State. Following the footsteps of Celestial Church of Christ, the RCCG has decided to embark on a multi-billion-naira project in the town, which will include the construction of a modern church auditorium for its worshippers to embrace the RCCG faith.
This news has been confirmed by the Onimeko of Imeko, Oba Benjamen Oyeditan Olanite who has granted approval for the sale of the land. This decision not only aims to elevate the town into a city but also encourages public investors to contribute to its economic growth.
It is widely known that the Redeemed Christian Church of God already boasts a world-class auditorium along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, as well as a private university located in Ede, off the Gbongan-Oshogbo Road in Osun State. However, the decision to relocate to the same area as Celestial Church of Christ has raised some skepticism.
In order to expedite the utilization of the recently acquired property, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of RCCG will officially unveil and bless the land on December 26, 2023, in Imeko. The event will take place just 24 hours after the conclusion of Celestial Church of Christ Annual Convention.
The decision to grant permission to RCCG for investment in the town stems from several factors. One of the primary reasons is the delay in the development of the project of Celestial Church and the lack of modern infrastructure by Celestial Church of Christ in the town. In contrast, RCCG has assured the town of a prompt response and commitment to investment.
